Places - Photo Map

Last updated: April 3, 2026

Overview

Places - Photo Map ("the App") is designed with privacy as a core principle. All data processing happens entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.

Data We Access

The App requests access to your photo library to read GPS location metadata from your photos. This data is used solely to index photo locations and enable search functionality within the App.

The App may request access to your device's location to show your current position on the map.

Data Storage

All indexed location data is stored locally on your device in a SQLite database. No data is transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal information. The App does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking frameworks. There are no user accounts, no sign-ins, and no network requests for data collection.

Third-Party Services

The App uses Apple's built-in reverse geocoding service (CLGeocoder) to convert GPS coordinates into human-readable place names. This is a standard iOS system service. No third-party services are used.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
